According to the ACC, the domestic cement industry is expected to grow by more than 10% in 2021 due to demand revival.
The government increased spending on large infrastructure projects and affordable housing schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) which would be the “primary drivers of growth” for the cement industry with an increase in budgetary allocation.
The cement industry has grown by 10–12% due to Kovid-related disruptions. The ACC said in its latest annual report, “The outlook for the cement sector is strong in 2021, projected to grow by more than 10% in 2020.”
