Can’t upgrade to Windows 11? These laptops are designed to show-off latest Microsoft OS

After months of pent-up excitement, Windows 11 is finally here – with Microsoft debuting the next-generation upgrade today. It’s the biggest update to the popular Windows operating system in years and includes a tonne of great new features – such as a redesigned Start Menu, totally revamped visuals, improvements to the update system, integrated Microsoft Teams functionality and much, much more.

Windows 11 will be available on new laptops sold from today and will also roll-out as a free upgrade to those with a legitimate copy of Windows 10. However, there are a number of factors that could mean you need to wait a little longer than you’d like to access Windows 11. As with other major patches, Microsoft are adopting a phased rollout for Windows 11 – so it may be some time before the update is ready to wing its way to your PC.

Also, while all Windows 10 laptops are, in theory, entitled to the Windows 11 upgrade, the OS has some pretty lofty requirements when it comes to the specifications – so many older PCs won’t be eligible. The high minimum specs for Windows 11 include at least an 8th gen Intel or AMD Ryzen 2000 processor, as well as support for TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Secure boot and TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) both add an extra layer of security to help protect Windows users from dangerous cyber threats …the list goes on.

To take the hassle out of upgrading to Windows 11, you can simply purchase a Windows 11 ready laptop.

Leading laptop makers such as Lenovo, Dell, Acer, Asus, HP and more all have dedicated sections on their websites for Windows 11 ready laptops. Some of these laptops are available for under £200.

While if you’re looking for more beefier specs Lenovo is offering savings of hundreds of pounds on its range of Windows 11 capable laptops.

It’s important to note though that due to the complex nature of the Windows 11 specs it’s best to double-check if any Windows 11 ready laptop listed online are definitely capable of running the OS.

Also, if you’re looking to experience Windows 11 as soon as possible then you’ll want to pick up a device that has the OS installed straight out of the box – instead of being eligible for the update further down the line. One option the Surface Go 3 that’s available at the official Microsoft Store with Windows 11 pre-installed for £369.
