All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday alleged that the BJP was trying to convert the country into democracy.
Mr Owaisi was speaking to the media at the party headquarters in Darussalam, where he on Tuesday condemned Gurugram’s municipal corporation’s decision to order meat shops closed.
Owaisi said that they are trying to destroy the pluralism of this country and convert it into a democratic India.
“Owaisi said,” This is a wrong decision, and similar decisions will be taken in other places as well.
The Hyderabad MP said that the decision was taken to impose trust on the people, which he said was against the Constitution of India. He demanded that the BJP rule the country on the basis of the constitution and not trust.
The AIMIM chief also criticized the Karnataka government’s decision to ban beef, and reported that around 1.5 people from the Quraysh community had lost their livelihood.
Mr. Owaisi questioned his intentions to contest the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
