NCP activists demonstrated on the streets in Nagpur in support of the state Home Minister and dismissed claims of corruption to discredit him.
BJP workers on Sunday staged protests in Nagpur and Pune demanding the resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in the wake of allegations of corruption leveled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
When Mr. Deshmukh is furious, NCP activists took to the streets in Nagpur against Mr. Singh to accuse him of defaming the state Home Minister.

A demonstration was also organized outside the BJP Yuva Morcha activists outside Shri Deshmukh’s residence in the city.
Meanwhile, NCP’s Nagpur unit president Anil Ahirkar said the allegations against Mr. Deshmukh were a conspiracy to discredit him.
Mr. Deshmukh dismissed the allegations leveled by Mr. Singh as baseless and called him a bid by an IPS officer to protect himself from the investigation.
Mr Singh was ousted as Mumbai Police Commissioner amidst investigations by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for the recovery of a vehicle loaded with explosives, which stood outside industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s South Mumbai residence last month.
NIA arrested Sachin Waze, Assistant Inspector of Mumbai Police, in the case.
