BJP candidate wins Shivmogga mayor’s election

BJP’s Sunita S. and K. Shankar was elected the mayor and deputy mayor of Shivamogga City Corporation respectively on Wednesday. The elections were conducted by Regional Commissioner Naveen Raj Singh.

Ms. Sunita and Rekha (Congress) had submitted nomination papers for the post of Mayor. While Sunita got 25 votes, Rekha got only 11 votes. Likewise, k. Shankar was elected deputy mayor by securing 25 votes in his favor, while his rival RC Naik received only 11 votes.

Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner KB Shivakumar was present.
