Beginning of Ordnance Factories Day – Hindu

Ordnance Factory, Tiruchi celebrated Ordnance Factories Day with an event on Thursday. The day of the establishment of the first Ordnance Factory is celebrated in 1801 at Kosipore near Calcutta.

OFT General Manager Sanjay Dwivedi celebrated the 220th Ordnance Day by the employees and their families on Thursday by organizing an awareness rally on ‘Cleanliness and Healthy Living’. More than 500 employees and members of the Women’s Welfare Association participated in the event.

It was noted that this year the OFT has provided 6.62 mm TAR rifle to the Ministry of Home Affairs and 12.7 mm guns and 30 mm guns for armored combat vehicles to the Indian Army. OFT also achieved milestones including the opening of the 12.7 mm Stabilized Remote Controlled Gun (SRCG) assembly and testing facility by Rajnath Singh and the launch of the 14.5 / 20mm anti material rifle.

V. Gunasekaran, Joint General Manager was awarded the ‘Ordnance Bhushan’ award and security officer K.K. Karthikesh was honored with the ‘Best Security Officer’ award at a function.
