The warships have been intensified with almost complete preparations in all the nine constituencies of the district following the announcement of candidates by the AIADMK and DMK.

While DMK candidate KN Nehru in Tiruchi (West), AIADMK K.V. Will face Padmanabhan, while AIADMK Tourism Minister Velmandi N. Natarajan is pitted against Kristhuva Nalnena Iyakkam’s DMK-backed Inigo Irshairaj. The AMMK has filed against Mr. Natarajan, former MLA R.K.

Most of the AIADMK candidates are expected to file nominations on Monday. Arrangements have been made to take out rallies before filing papers.

Meanwhile, most of the AIADMK and DMK candidates have started campaigning for votes. Accused by their supporters, they engage in door-to-door campaigns in their territories.

In Thiruverumbur constituency, Mr. Kumar on Sunday appealed to residents in Melakalkandarkottai to choose the two-leaf symbol.

Similarly, AIADMK candidates Mr. Natarajan, Mr. Krishnan, DMK candidates Mr. Nehru and Mahesh Poemoji met notable candidates in their constituencies on Sunday.
