‘It will be my honor to visit Bangladesh at the end of this month’, tweeted the Prime Minister on the birth anniversary of Bangladesh’s founding father.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to Bangladesh founder ‘Bangabandhu’ Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his birth anniversary and said that he is a hero for all Indians.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, was born on 17 March 1920.

Mr. Modi tweeted, “My heartfelt tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the champion of human rights and freedom.”
He said, “He is also a hero to all Indians. It will be my honor to visit Bangladesh later this month for the historic #MujibBorshoe event.”
Prime Minister Modi will visit Bangladesh on 26 and 27 March, his first foreign trip since the outbreak of the coronovirus epidemic.
The Foreign Ministry (MEA) made an announcement on Tuesday on Modi’s visit to the neighboring country following an invitation from Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“The visit is in commemoration of three epoch-making events – Mujib Borsho, the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations between India and Bangladesh; and 50 years of the liberation of Bangladesh;” said.
Mr. Modi last visited Bangladesh in 2015.
