Assam Assembly Election | BJP’s campaign focused on attacking Ajmal

Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma says that All India United Democratic Front chief wants to become CM

For rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), perfume Baron Badruddin Ajmal seems to be the flavor of the election season.

In campaign after campaign, the saffron party attacked All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) President and Lok Sabha member Mr. Ajmal. The AIUDF is a constituent of the Congress-led 10-party Mahajot or Mahagathbandhan in Assam.

While campaigning for his party’s candidate in Berhampur on Wednesday, state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma devoted most of his speech to the AIUDF chief.

“Congress has joined hands with Ajmal to form the next government. Congress sold it for longing for power. Can we accept their ideology? ” He asked.

Mr. Ajmal reportedly said that citing a video, the women said that as many children as possible should give birth, Dr. Sarma said: “He is not bothered about the health of women. His sole aim is to become the Chief Minister of Assam at any cost. ”

Mr. Ajmal said a few days ago that he was never in the race for the chief minister’s chair. He had also clarified that the AIUDF agreed to join the grand alliance to avoid a split in the BJP and secular votes.

The Congress and AIUDF had a combined vote share of 14 seats, which the BJP or its ally Asom Gana Parishad won in the 2016 elections.

Continuing his attack, Drs. Sarma promised the AIUDF chief to reopen the madrasas if Mahajot wins the three-phase election that ends on 6 April.

“Ajmal wants to reopen MadrasaS whether people should become doctors and engineers or MullahThe sand Clerics? “Said the minister.

The Sarbananda Sonowal government enacted a law two months ago to convert 729 state primary, upper primary, upper and higher secondary madrasas into common schools.

“We have to protect Assam. Voting for the Congress will mean inviting Ajmal to Dispur [Assam’s seat of power]. If he seizes power, the Assamese people will not be able to hold their head high.

Mr. Ajmal used a Bengali proverb in an interview – “Jato Dosh, Nando Ghosh ”- to explain BJP’s obsession with them. The proverb literally means “to blame Nando Ghosh for every ill or for wrongdoing”.

“It is easy to cover for the failure of governance in Assam. Just blame it on Badruddin Ajmal and sell your fears by portraying him as representative of Bangladeshis or illegal migrants or Mughals.
