Natarajan’s rise has been impressive. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), he earned much praise for his accuracy, especially in the death overs.
His performance in the IPL earned him his first India call-up for the tour of Australia last year. Multiple injuries in the squad opened up a window of opportunity for Natarajan, and he had to play all three formats, affecting one and all.
Praising Pacer’s performance and five other youngsters – Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Siraj, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini and Washington Sundar – during the Down Under Tour, Anand Mahindra announced that he would gift Thar to each of them.
