Alchem Laboratories Limited has announced a partnership with Tata Memorial Center (TMC) to set up an advanced radiotherapy facility as a part of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center (HBCHRC) in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
Alchem has approved the purchase of the two most advanced versions of the teletherapy and brachytherapy units for the facility, the company said in a statement.
The facility is being developed as a spoken model, it will also provide chemotherapy, minor operation, basic laboratory, treatment planning.
To further decentralize cancer care, Alchem and TMC have collaborated to set up 3 mini cancer units at Buxar, Jehanabad and Bhagalpur in Bihar.
“These centers will connect cancer patients in those districts by telemedicine to HBCHRC, Muzaffarpur. In addition, these centers will work with the district administration on community activities such as community awareness and screening.
