Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition adds co-op mode – morningtidings

Co-op mode has arrived in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition with update 50292, Microsoft announced via the game’s Twitter account. Now, you can fight alongside a friend in the game in five historical battles for now. The battles are specifically chosen for the fact that they make for co-op scenarios. The five battles that you can play in PUP are Tours, Hastings, Honfoglalas, Kurikara and Bapheus.
What’s different about the co-op campaign? Mostly, the game is going to play the same, you’ll have the story-driven objectives and the same in-game dialogue but since now you can bring a friend to the battle, the AI has been toughened up too for the challenge of two antagonists, which would require coordination between you and your friend.
Next up in the pipeline is the release of Co-Op Campaign content, which includes 33 missions selected from across six different campaigns. The future update will include all of the following Co-Op Campaign content found in the six campaigns:
Saladin: An Arabian Knight, Lord of Arabia, The Horns of Hattin, The Siege of Jerusalem, Jihad! And The Lion and the Demon
Attila the Hun: The Scourge of God, The Great Ride, The Walls of Constantinople, A Barbarian Betrothal, The Battle of the Catalaunian Fields and The Fall of Rome
Alaric: The Battle of the Frigidus, Razing Hellas, The Belly of the Beast, The Giant Falls and A Kingdom of our Own
Tariq ibn Ziyad: The Battle of Guadalete, Consolidation and Subjugation, Divide and Conquer, Crossing the Pyrenees and Razzia
Suryavarman I: Usurpation, Quelling the Rebellion, A Dangerous Mission, Challenging a Thalassocracy and Nirvanapada
Tamerlane: Amir of Transoxiana, Gurkhan of Persia, Harbinger of Destruction, Sultan of Hindustan, Scourge of the Levant and A Titan Amongst Mortals
