Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition has got a new DLC called ‘Dawn of the Dukes’. The DLC can be purchased for Rs 265 on Steam. It adds two new civilisations to the game: The Bohemians and The Poles. Plus, the DLC also adds three new fully-voiced campaigns to the game.
In the game, the Bohemians ditch brute force for novel weaponry, specialisation in gunpowder-based attacks and an “uncanny ability to outwit, outmaneuver, and counter their opponents.” Some of the units unique to the civilisation are the Hussite Wagon and the Houfnice. The Hussite Wagon comes with strong firepower and can protect the troops stationed behind it while the Houfnice is an upgrade to the Bombard Cannon, made to reduce enemy buildings to dust.
The Bohemians also come with two unique technologies: Wagenburg Tactics and Hussite Reforms. “The former boosts their roster of gunpowder units, while the latter improves their Monks and Monasteries.”, as per the developers.
The Poles
The Poles’ main strength is their cavalry. Their unique units include the Obuch, infantryman armed with war hammers, the Winged Hussar, the medium cavalry and a unique building called Folwark instead of the Mill, which increases the efficiency of the nearby Farms.
This civilisation also comes with two unique technologies–Szlachta Privileges and Lechitic Legacy–both aimed at providing powerful boosts to their roster of cavalry units.
Three new campaigns
The new campaigns include Algirdas and Kestutis, Jadwiga and Jan Zizka. In Algirdas and Kestutis, you play as Lithuanians who have to fend off an invasion by the Teutonic Knights. In Jadwiga, you play as the Poles while in Jan Jizka, you play as the Bohemians.
