A display of love towards Sreedharan adds to the line.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high-profile candidate in Palakkad constituency E. Sreedharan has found himself in the midst of a controversy over love and respect by party supporters during his election meeting.

Social media acted with disgust for the criticisms of the BJP and Mr. Sreedharan, defying their actions, and Metroman justified it.

Some voters, Mr. Sreedharan, approached Palakkad and some people washed their feet before him. These highly heretical works have been found to be very less during electrification in the state.

Critics accused the BJP and Mr. Sreedharan of trying to revive ancient cultural values by resorting to such impure and self-denial displays of affection and respect. Some people described Mr. Sreedharan’s feet washing and kneeling in front of him and prostitution as a sign of the service that the BJP was trying to promote.

However, Mr. Sreedharan denied the allegation, saying there was nothing wrong with it and that it was part of Indian culture. He went on to say that those who could not agree with such practices had no right to call themselves Indian.

“There is nothing wrong with that. It is a display of respect, not worship. This is Indian culture. This is our religion; This is our tradition, ”said Mr. Sreedharan.

He said that the perpetrators of such acts were looking at them with a narrow mind. He said, “They cannot call themselves Indians.”

Meanwhile, the BJP’s social media warriors defended Mr Sreedharan, saying that there was no more service than standing in front of a sitting election officer while filing the nomination.

88-year-old Mr. Sreedharan is pitted against the young stalwart Shafi Parambil of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and CP Pramod of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Palakkad.

Mr. Shafi defeated Shobha Surendran of BJP by 17,483 votes in the 2016 assembly elections. In 2011, Mr. Shafi defeated LDF’s KK Divakaran by 7,403 votes.
