The MUDA budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 has a number of projects for the city that, once implemented, are expected to shore up their green and clean part.

In addition, there is a new tourism project at Bannimantap Maidan, where visitors can spend at least 4 hours to 5 hours. MUDA plans to have a Planetarium, a science museum, a toy train for children, etc., on the lines of the Vishvesvaraya Museum in Bengaluru, on a 16-acre plot for which MUDA has set up ₹ 10 crore for the new financial year.

The budget includes funds for 10 sewage treatment plants and a solid waste treatment plant in the city limits at a cost of ₹ 4.5 crore. It has also identified the Devnoor layout for setting up a similar plant at a cost of cater 1.5 crore to handle locally generated waste. Concrete and building debris recycling plants are also proposed in association with Mysuru City Corporation and MUDA has invested ₹ 1 crore.

The Maharajas had in 1921 identified 20 acres of land adjoining the Kukkarahalli lake and Saraswatipuram for the development of Lal Bagh. MUDA plans to develop a part of it which is now vacant as Mini Lal Bagh and a mark of Rs 1 crore has been kept for it. The Freedom Park development has received ₹ 2 crore and MUDA plans to levy 2 percent green cess on the layout development plan fee. The skating rink track development is also closed, while the urban forestry project will also be encouraged and 100 parks will be developed under the PPP model.

Watches in the new MUDA layout, construction of arches on the doors leading to the city of Mysuru and development of ‘Autonagar’ are other proposals in the budget.
