Sebastian Vettel said he felt “upset and angry” after finishing 18th on his Aston Martin debut ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday’s season. The four-time world champion, who joined the former Racing Point team this year after leaving Ferrari, failed to make the cut from Q1 and struggled to make an impression. “This is what it is,” he said. “We’ll have to see what we can do tomorrow, but I’m still learning. If I panic now, will it help?”

“Of course, I am upset and annoyed that it was not our fault, in a way not to make it, but we have to take it and we can do the same for the race.”

Vittel was hit by two yellow flag interference during his final Q1 run, related to events related to Nikita Mazpin’s Haas and Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari, which the man replaced Maranello.

“Of course, I think it was likely for us to be very fast, but there was clearly an issue with the yellow flag during the lap so that it would be impossible to come back,” Vettel said.
