‘Monitoring of global shortages may increase, flat screen prices’

According to BenQ India, prices of monitors, flat TV screens, interactive panels, projector displays and other such devices worldwide may increase prices of display products globally by 10-20% in the next three to four months.

“A severe shortage of display products is currently being felt worldwide as demand for such products has risen to a record high rank epidemic,” said Rajiv Singh, MD, BenQ India.

“China, the largest manufacturer of ICs and other major components of display systems, remained closed for several months, resulting in a large, demand surge in global markets and subsequent supply shortages,” he said.

’10-20% price increase’

He said that this would increase the prices of all electronics and computing products globally by 10% to 20% in the next three to four months. BenQ India is a part of BenQ Corporation, a $ 25 billion Taiwanese electronics firm.

Personal computer manufacturer Acer also said that the industry was struggling due to the lack of integrated circuits (ICs).

“Global technology is grappling with a shortage of supply chain components, when the epidemic’s ‘stay-at-home economy’ began to meet demand for computers, gaming consoles and other devices” said Sudhir Goyal, chief business officer, Acer India.

Commenting further on the growing trend of ‘visuality’, Mr. Singh of BenQ said, the epidemic had increased the need for better ‘visibility’ to a great extent and this trend was manifested by teachers, doctors, researchers, technical, students, families and many others. Was evident in groups. And individuals.

“Doctors want to use a large display system to make it convenient for their patients. Teachers prefer big screens to make their online classes more effective. In addition, individual households are upgrading their display systems to enhance their entertainment quality and OTT viewing experience. This is happening in India and it is a global trend, ” he said.
