Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan said on Twitter on Saturday that he has tested positive for coronovirus. Earlier in the day, legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar tested COVID-19. During the recently concluded Road Safety World Series T20 tournament, Yusuf was part of the India Legends team captained by Tendulkar. Yusuf said he has mild symptoms and is present at home, taking all precautions and medication. Joseph tweeted, “I have tested positive for COVID-19 today with mild symptoms. After confirmation, I have calmed myself at home and need to take all necessary precautions and medication,” Yusuf tweeted.

“I will request those who come in contact with me to get their inquiry done at the earliest,” he said.

Yusuf played a key role in the road safety World Series finals, scoring an unbeaten 62 and taking two crucial wickets.

The Baroda all-rounder announced his retirement from all forms of the game on 26 February.

Yusuf played 57 One-Day Internationals and 22 Twenty20 Internationals for India.

He was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning team as well as the 2011 team that went on to win the 50-over World Cup.

Yusuf scored 810 runs including two centuries in the 50-over format while he scored 236 runs in the shortest format of the game at a stunning strike-rate of 146.58.

Yusuf was a veteran campaigner in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played 194 IPL games and scored 3,204 runs and also managed to take 42 wickets.

In the franchise-based T20 tournament, he represented Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
