IND vs ENG, 3rd ODI preview: India will look for iron out bowling flow in England series decider vs series

India will return after suffering a 6-wicket defeat in the second one-day international (ODI) against England in Pune on Friday. The hosts saw clash against Johnny Bairstow and Ben Stokes, who scored 175 runs off just 117 balls to propel England to their most successful chase against India in the 50-over format. England’s sweeping victory on Friday took the series to a decisive position, to be played at the same venue on Sunday. While England have gained momentum for their side after the clinical performance, India would like to make some changes in their bowling department.

The hosts did not control the scoring rate in the middle overs as Bairstow and Stokes battered the Indian bowlers in all parts of the MCA Stadium.

India played two left-arm spinners – Krunal Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav. Both spinners proved expensive, scoring 156 runs in 16 overs.

Kuldeep scored 84 runs from his 10-over spell, while Krunal conceded 72 runs in his six overs.

Praseed Krishna came back well at the end of his spell, but his opening spell again offered England boundary balls.

India have a lot of options in their squad that can come into the playing eleven and Virat Kohli wants to tweak his combination a bit for the series combination.

Shardul Thakur, who has played seven matches on the trot (5 T20Is and 2 ODIs), can be rested and T Natarajan may come as a left-arm fast bowling option.

Another change that comes in place of Yuzvendra Chahal Kuldeep Yadav, who has failed to make his mark in the two ODIs played so far in the series.

Kohli was satisfied with his team’s batting performance after the second ODI and there is hardly any room for change after KL Rahul’s century.

Squad of India: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wk), Washington Sundar, Krunal Pandya, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Prisidh Krishna, Mohammed Shamira , Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav
