The 49ers, the Dolphins and Eagles brought their kind of craziness on March 26 – ahead of April 29 – by shaking the top 12 overall picks in the 2021 NFL Draft.
San Francisco and Miami exchanged first-round players in a blockbuster. After a long time, Miami did the same again with Philadelphia. The Dolphins have slipped just three places from No. 3 to No. 6, while 49ers are now choosing No. 3 and the Eagles have taken their old position to No. 12.

Nfl draft trade grade
Dolphin: A
The Dolphins did not need to use their second, own first rounder to make these moves. He used a pick he acquired from Texas in the Laresie Tunnel deal to retain a high starting first-rounder at No. 6, while netting an additional first-round pick in 2023, with the 2022 draft washed away.
Miami can still get the wide receiver of its choice after three spots and remains in a good position for another trade if some team is trying to jump Detroit, Carolina and Denver to make it one of its five options. The first choice QB could get. It was a good draft with no QB needed, a No. 3 pick, and the Dolphins took advantage. Tua Tagovailoa will get even more help now and in the future.
Eagles: B
The Eagles get an extra first-rounder out of the deal for a slightly larger slide of six spots. But now at No. 12 he will be expected to get Florida tight end Kyle Pitts with at least one of the top three wide receivers – LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase, Alabama’s DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle – no longer under his wheel. .
They also took themselves out of a small chance at Pennai Sewell to tackle Oregon and may also miss Northwest tackle Rashawn Slater. Getting more assists in the future is good, but settling for the best defensive player available in the heavy draft of the offense will not help Jalmahal.
49 Habit: C
If the 49ers say this is true about not using No. 3 to replace Jimmy Garpolo at quarterback this year or next season, it would be a costly, useless move. They look good at wide receiver along with Brandon Ayuk and Debo Samuel. He has an elite who get tight end at George Kiteel. He paid Manning on the right, along with Mike McGlenchi, a first-round player, to keep Trent Williams as just a left-handed player.
Any of the top cornerbacks in the class, Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley or Alabama’s Patrick Sarton II, will meet a big need, but now is too early for a chance to pick one. So everything depends on getting the QB what they want, not Clemson Trevor Lawrence. If it is BYUs Zach Wilson, the Jets could knock him out of luck. If it’s North Dakota State’s Trey Lance or Ohio State’s Justin Fields, the 49ers will be in business. But at the next level, there is a lot of pressure on the Nivers, given the cost, that they hit a home run with a QB pick. So far, it is easy to trust the plans of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch with a little patience.
Should Lance or Fields bounce, they will be talented again. Should either go bust, the Niners have been hampering their chances to retake the NFC West for several years. That’s why, for now, this is an average grade for San Francisco.
