The trade means the 49ers are likely to be in the market for a quarterback in the draft, with the quarterback in play as more than three – or more – picks at No. 3 overall pick: Zach Wilson of BYU, Justin Fields of Ohio State and North Dakota States Trey Lance. It follows that Trevor Lawrence, the consensus No. 1 overall pick, goes to the Jaguars.
Subsequently there is also news that the 49ers are sticking with Jimmy Garappolo for now, despite rumors that the Niners may ship the Garapolo this offseason.
The 49ers now square in the QB Mix, but are holding on to Jimmy Garrappolo and according to their sources, he has no plans to trade.
