Mohammad Salah has urged Liverpool to make the best of their “tough” season for Champions League glory. Jurgen Klopp’s side surrendered as the Champions League title fell to seventh place after a poor run. The injured Reds are 25 points behind Manchester City and five points ahead of fourth-placed Chelsea. It would be difficult but not impossible to qualify for the next season’s Champions League through a top four finish.

Liverpool have hinted to be back on track after beating Leipzig in the Champions League in the last 16 seconds of the leg and the Wolves in the Premier League.

With the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid in April, Egypt further wants Salah to target its Liverpool teammates European success.

“I am happy about my final results, so hopefully we can just win,” Salah told Liverpool’s website.

“It is tough for all of us because of the situation we are going through and our position in the Premier League, but I believe it will be better.

“We are doing well in the Champions League.”

Despite Liverpool’s poor run, Salah is the joint Premier League top scorer with Harry Kane at 17 this season.

His own targeting has not suffered too badly as he has already reached 25 in all competitions for the third time in four seasons, but wants to focus on further to help the side progress. Can do for

“I just don’t want to talk about our season because we play as a team, so I would say it’s a tough season for all of us and we should just try to win,” said Salah.

“We are going to give our 100 percent to win the next few games and hopefully we can do that and also do well in the Champions League.”
