Who won the NASCAR race yesterday? Full results from Atlanta race

The winner of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway needed some help to get to Victory Lane.

Ryan Blandy took the lead in the remainder of the Honors QuickTrip 500 with eight laps from Kyle Larson and then rolled in a win of 2.083 seconds. It was Blaine’s first 2021 win and the fifth of his Cup Series career. Blaney also became the sixth different winner in the first six races of the season.

Larsen won the first two stages of the race and took a late lead in Stage 3, only to wear his tires down and slow his car while running long green-flags. That Blaney closed the gap and eventually drove the checker flag.

Below is more about Blaney’s win, as well as the full results of Sunday’s race.

Who won the NASCAR race yesterday?

Ryan Blandy charged late to Kyle Larson, who led 269 out of 325 laps of the race.

“Gosh, we had a great long car all day.” Told Fox Sports after the race. “It took us a little time to get going. I was very independent all day, so we made a really nice change to tighten up where I needed it, and it looked like Kyle is getting loose.

“I’m glad that it worked in our favor that in the end there were some long runs. It helped us get there. And that some sluggish traffic went behind.”

Blaney’s team was Penske teammate Joey Logano “Lapped Traffic” which made the biggest difference. Logano was on the run in front of Larsen and Blane when Blane made a pass for the lead.

Larson was not happy with Logano being in the way.

Ryan Blandy and Kyle Larson finished third with 1-2, Alex Bowman in third and leader in the series Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch in fifth.

“I think he got a lot better there that has changed my final stage and my flow of the race a little bit,” Larsen Blane asked for Phane Sports after the race. “I could get out of such a big lead and I could take care of my stuff and run down to where it was probably slow but I could take care of my tires.

“He was fast there and I just wanted to keep the gap that I had, so I had to run to the faster part of the race track and just use my stuff. And then he was a lot better than I was there a long time ago. Was. Run. “

Hamlin made his series for the fifth top-fifth series of the season.

The Cup Series now shifts its focus to next Sunday’s race in Bristol (3:30 pm ET; Fox, PRN, SeriousXM NASCAR Radio). The event will be the first race of the series on dirt since 1970.
