AWAR organizes nature camp – Hindu

Members of the Amravati Walkers and Runners Association (AWARA) organized the Earth Day-9K run on Sunday as a part of their regular Sunday Nature Camp for Children and Parents.

The camp was attended by students from schools in Krishna and Guntur district along with their parents and some teachers.

Earth Day is celebrated on 22 April. But in keeping with the severity of the summer in April, the organizers pushed the event forward.

In a special program for children, Kavya from an organization called Prithvi Sirs demonstrated how to manage waste generated at home. She created a non-carcinogenic, chemical-free bio-enzymatic household cleaning agent using simple household materials.

AWARA founder Ajay Katragadda reminded the participants that it was the duty of every citizen to reduce their own carbon footprint. “This is the basis of all movement activities – Sunday nature camp, runs and swims in the last five years,” he said.
