Sastra’s all-female team wins the SAARC moot court competition

VI PRO organized by Lloyd Law College, Noida. NRMadhava Menon emerged as the winner of an all-female team from the SASTRA School of Law in the SAARC Law Mooting Competition.

The three final-year students of the 5-year integrated LLB program: Thejaswini.CB, Pavitra.M and Kavita Ravi were among 18 competing teams from law schools in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, Maldives and Afghanistan. .

In the final round, the SASTRA team won the Sri Lankan team from the Faculty of Law of the University of Colombo.

The problem was over an environmental law issue involving the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. The final round consisted of a constitutional bench comprising Justice Shiran Goenaratne (Judge, Supreme Court of Sri Lanka), Justice Piyush Aggarwal (Judge, High Court in Allahabad), Justice Mridul Mridul (Judge, High Court, Justice). Rajesh Bindal (Judge, High Court of Calcutta) and Justice Dinesh Pathak (Judge, Judicial High Court in Allahabad).

This is the second time that SASTRA Law School is winning this prestigious moot court competition in the last six years.
