Call for successful India bandh on 26 March

The decision of the central government to divest 100% equity in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) will affect the employability of the youth in the region, CPI (M) leader Y Raju has alleged.

On March 26, a padyatra was organized on Sunday by the party Jagdamba Zone Committee to pacify the support of the people on the proposed Bharat Bandh.

Mr. Raju said that the huge increase in the prices of essential commodities like diesel and petrol has resulted in cascading effect resulting in rising prices of other commodities. While there was no hope on increasing the income level, the state government was considering increasing the water tax and drainage tax from April 1, he alleged.

He said that amendment of agricultural laws by the Center would hurt farmers many times. The CPI (M) leader called upon all people to voluntarily participate in the Bharat Bandh, which was organized to oppose the ‘anti-people’ policies of the central government.
