Police said on Saturday that three people have been arrested for molesting a 25-year-old woman and robbing a truck driver.
DCP (South) Atul Kumar Thakur said that the accused – Yogesh, Naveen Lohmod and Baljeet – are all residents of Ayya Nagar.
On Thursday and Friday night, a woman received a PCR call stating that her car had been molested by three to four people and they tried to rape her, an official said. He told the police that the three men committed the crime when he tried to interfere in a fight with his brother. A case was then registered.
Police said another PCR call was received stating that the caller was beaten by three persons in a car and robbed of Rs 30,000 from him in Aya Nagar. A truck driver, Shahzad, told the police that he was unloading bricks when the accused came to the spot, abused him and then robbed him.
During the investigation, it was found that the same accused were involved in both the incidents. Police said they were released after the noose.
