The auto companies welcomed the new vehicle scouring policy, saying that it would encourage people to replace old vehicles while promoting the sector.
The new policy presents a huge business opportunity for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and reduces pollution by increasing road safety, said Venkataram Mamilapalle, Country CEO and MD, Renault India Operations.
Mr. Venkataram said that the announcement would give an equal boost to the Indian automotive industry internationally for the auto, steel and electronics industries, which needed revitalization after the pandemic attack.
Nagesh Basavanahalli, Group CEO and MD, Greaves Cotton, said the announcement of this incentive would reduce pollution levels in the long run and boost demand for new and environmentally friendly vehicles, particularly in the personal mobility segment.
Satyakam Arya, MD and CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, said, “The right security, economic and environmental benefits can be achieved only by the joint efforts of government, industry and customers.” ”
“The guidelines will prove to be a boon in the long run. We strongly believe that this policy will initiate the revival of the Indian auto sector and the overall economy.”
“Measures to put green cess and exempt vehicles operating on environmentally friendly technology, in turn, revitalize well for EVs. We now require state governments to add scour incentives with EVs and provide intra- Citi looks forward to supporting their use for requirements, ”said Saurav Kumar, founder and CEO, Eule Motors, an automotive technology OEM.
