UDF manifesto, an action plan to rectify the mistakes of the LDF: MM Hassan

UDF convenor MMHassan said the United Democratic Front (UDF) in its manifesto would carry forward the action plan to repair all that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government has destroyed in the last five years.

Speaking at the press-the-press event of ‘People’s 2021’ organized by Kerala Union of Working Journalists, District Committee and Kesari Memorial Journalist Trust, he said that Kerala needs a government that works for its development and trust Preserve the followers of all religions. The UDF manifesto will be released on Saturday.

“In the last five years, the development of the state had stalled after natural disasters, epidemics and economic recession. In Kerala, we have seen corruption under the guise of development. Atrocities on women and children have increased and the government has rescued the accused in such cases.

Accusing the CPI (M) of an unholy nexus with the BJP with the sole purpose of coming back to power, he accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of remaining silent on the allegation. He dared the Chief Minister to file a defamation suit against RSS ideologue R. Balashankar if his claims about BJP-CPI-M nexus were false.

However, Mr. Hasan rejected the remarks of BJP MLA O. Rajagopal, confirming the electoral understanding between the Congress, the Muslim League and the BJP to defeat the Left. He also said that some Congress leaders have not read much about joining the BJP, adding that none of them are contesting as BJP candidates, while some local leaders are leftists.

Mr. Hassan said that Srivijayan’s statement that the government will ban the entry of women in Sabarimala only after the final verdict of the Supreme Court to fool the people of Kerala. He asked if the LDF was ready to file a revised affidavit in this regard. Referring to the passing of a law of the Rajiv Gandhi government to set aside the SC verdict in the Shah Bano case, he said that it is possible for governments to legislate in cases under the court’s consideration.
