West Indies player Andre Russell has thanked PM Narendra Modi for sending the Coronovirus vaccine to Jamaica. “I want to say a big, big, big thank you to Prime Minister Modi and the High Commission of India. The vaccines are here and we are excited. I would love to see the world in a normal state. The people of Jamaica really appreciate it. And it shows For that we are closer than India, India and Jamaica are now brothers. I appreciate that and stay safe here. Peace, “Russell said in a video posted on Wednesday from India’s official Twitter handle in Jamaica said.

Earlier this month, Jamaica thanked India for sending 50,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines. In a tweet, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness said, “I am very happy to say that yesterday afternoon, we received the first batch of 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, donated by the Government of India. We are deeply critical of the government. Condolences. And the people of India need much needed support for this. ”
On 8 March, the Made in India vaccine arrived in Jamaica as part of the ‘Vaccine Friendship’ initiative.
Last week, former West Indies cricketers Viv Richards, Richie Richardson, Jimmy Adams and Ramnaresh Saravan thanked PM Modi for helping Caribbean countries by providing COVID-19 vaccines as part of the ‘Vaccine Mahashree’ initiative.

In March, Antigua and Barbuda received 1,75,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, of which 40,000 were donated to the country by India.
