Written answer to a question raised by NK Premachandran in the House
The Center had informed the state government in early October 2019 that the Consulate General of India (CGI) in New York could not verify the credibility of the US company that had proposed a memorandum of understanding for deep sea fishing, Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muralitharan told the Lok Sabha during the Question Hour on Wednesday.
In a written reply to a question raised in the House by NK Premachandran, he said that the Ministry of External Affairs had directed CGI in New York to verify the address and credentials of M / s EMCC Global Consortium LLC following a request from the state government. . CGI sought details through a communication to the company on October 14, 2019.

However, in the absence of the company’s response, the company’s address and credit could not be verified. The minister said the company’s address is at 535th Avenue Avenue, 4th Floor, a virtual office with permission for short-term rentals and other secretarial services.
The findings of the investigation on the company’s credentials were conveyed by CGI in New York on October 21, 2019 and by the Ministry of External Affairs on October 25, 2019 to the Government of Kerala by email.
Subsequently, CGI New York conveyed the same response to the Government of Kerala on 6 November 2019.
The Centre’s explanation flew in the face of Union Minister for Industry EP Jayarajan’s contention that the state government received no response to its request for assistance from the central government to ascertain the company’s credibility.
