CJI calls for women’s safety

Madras High Court Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee on Tuesday asked the Election Commission of India to ensure the safety and security of women deployed for polling work. He said that women should be deployed at polling stations close to their residence and they should be provided necessary transportation. He emphasized on providing clean toilet facilities at all stations. While discussing the subject during the hearing of the election related matter, the Chief Justice representing the Commission, Senior Advocate G. “Please take care of the women activists as if someone was attending from you or my house,” he told Rajagopalan.
