Sorry, Indiana fans. Brad Stevens will never visit the assembly hall anytime soon.
The Celtics coach addressed another round of IU-related rumors during Tuesday’s edition 98.5 The SportsHub’s “Zolak and Bertrand” Show. Steven, an Indiana native who led Butler to several Final Four appearances before jumping into the NBA, threw his name into the news cycle on Monday after the Hoosiers shot Archie Miller, but he made it clear Wants that he is not interested in a sudden career change.

Asked if he plans to leave Boston and fill the void in Indiana, Stevens announced, “I’m not.”
“Listen, that’s home. I got it,” Stevens said. “I appreciate all the good feelings. It certainly does not go unnoticed, and it is definitely very kind.”
Stevens has been to Indiana “White whale” Over the years due to his obvious ties to the state, but dropping back to the college level means nothing to him. The 44-year-old holds a 602–338 overall record with Celtic, and he led Boston to Eastern Conference Finals berths in 2017, 2018 and 2020. Boston too Stevens signed to extend a contract Just a few months ago and praised the work he did.
“Brad is one of the smartest and hard-working coaches in the game today,” said the Celtic president of basketball operation Danny Anging in August. “More importantly, his character and loyalty have contributed to a culture that values all of us immensely. Brad is a great teammate, and a leader whom people want to follow.
“We are honored to have him with us as we seek to continue our next championship.”
Whenever a major college coaching job opens, Stevens is mentioned. Whenever Indiana is involved, speculation about Stevens moves to another level.
Just keep in mind that rumors are not coming from him.
