The Governor said that vaccination is important for public health

Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan on Tuesday called for increasing people’s participation in promoting the vaccination campaign in the country.

The Governor on Tuesday released video messages aimed at creating better awareness about the importance of vaccination for the prevention of deadly diseases on the occasion of National Immunization Day-2021. “Vaccines are important for family and public health because they are effective tools to prevent such deadly viral and other diseases. Every year millions of lives are being saved.

Ms Soundarajan said that although the focus is on the COVID-19 immunization campaign, the regular immunization program for children should not be neglected.

Public participation was crucial to the effective implementation of the vaccination program, he said, adding that better awareness would motivate people to understand the need for vaccines.

He praised the role of scientists and pharmaceutical professionals in making India, particularly Hyderabad, the ‘vaccine capital of the world’.
