Apollo Tires Limited has introduced Apterra Cross tires for the compact SUV (CSUV) segment. This is the first dedicated range of tires that cater to the CSUV segment in the Indian automotive industry, the company said. The current size of the CSUV tire market in India is 4,00,000 tires per month, the company said, adding that it was expected to double soon. The tire is manufactured in the Oragadam unit and will be introduced later in the ASEAN and SAARC markets. In the domestic market, it will cater to vehicles such as the Vitara Brezza and Nexon.
