If it is Gonzaga or region, take the area.
He is 67 vs one.
However you have to think about it.
If it is from Gonzaga or any other region, this is an easy answer. Gonzaga has been the best team in the nation, the best in many years. This does not mean that it is infallible. Hopefully everyone learned their lesson with the impromptu teams of the couple. But the Zags are the team with the best chance of winning the NCAA Championship. Not just the team.

And so we are again ranking the 20 teams that make up the 2021 NCAA tournament ground. After being unable to do this exercise a year ago, we feel a little out of practice, but being able to do it once again is great.
As always, these rankings are not based on regular-season achievements or accomplishments, or on the committee’s preference or my own, but on the probability of each individual team winning the six games needed to claim the NCAA championship.
Which means that factors such as the team’s draw are important, as they are qualities that are typically found in a champion: a high-end offense and defense, typically the 20 most effective in each category; Legitimate NBA talent, preferably so obvious, that one or more players are considered first-round picks; A player with the ability, either from the wing or point, to defeat a well-designed defense with individual ability and, preferably, a coach who has been deep in the tournament on earlier occasions and understands the challenges.
Here they are, 1-68:
1. Gonzaga. Jalan Sugg’s entry into the program gave the Jags something that even their best teams of the past did not have. Until it is revealed that they play Oklahoma State in the championship game, it is a certainty that the Jugs will be represented by the single best talent on the floor in each round. He had very good players who have become very good players before. But the Sugs are at a further level than the likes of Brandon Clarke and Rui Hachimura and Dan Dickaw and even Adam Morrison. He showed in his return to BYU at the West Coast Conference Championship that he could be the player to carry the team through the toughest moments.
2. Illinois. The Fighting Illini were presented with the most agreed-upon bracket, except for the No. 4 seed who is hard to imagine. It is clear that the committee used OK State’s poor analytics against the Cowboys (No. 30 in KenPom, No. 29 in net) in the seeding process. But their record is excellent and they beat fantastic teams. The Sweet 16 Ayo vs Cad game, it is believed to be one of the best shows of the 2021 NCAA tournament.
3. Belor. The Bears are still one of the best prospects to win this championship, even though they are not defending going back to their customary level in mid-January. Their offense can be overcome to a great extent, and it is always possible that the boiler can return to its destructive ways.
4. Oklahoma State. Can you win a national title with a player? Can a player win you a national title? This is a different question, and Cade Cunningham is one of those who can give an affirmative answer. He is not a full player; His issue with ball-handling is among the reasons the Cowboys performed poorly in advanced metrics and wound up with the No. 4 seed instead of No. 3. But he has a variety of talents that can change a game. He would have to make three or four changes to get the Cowboys the trophy. But it can happen.
5. Alabama. Perhaps earlier, somewhere, but the strangest thing about the Crimson Tide is that they are best known for their offense, but are better on D. But point guard Jahon Quernley is becoming a special player, or perhaps recovering all who made him. An elite prospect as a high schooler. An offense from 3-point distance that wins a title with a team is not unprecedented. The 2018 Villanova team did exactly that. But its individual personnel were better suited to seize the moments individually, the way Mikel Bridges did against the Crimson Tide in their second-round game.
6. Michigan. The Wolverines could have been the second or third team on this list that they retained. But they are not. Losing Isaiah Rivers for the foreseeable future is a setback that will be difficult to cross at the last four levels. But they can get there, especially if sophomore wing Franz Wagoner has elevated his offensive game to a level he can reach, but only occasionally does.
7. Texas. There is no team with more dynamic big men than Longhorn. He has struggled with consistency at times, but he has the talent to win it.
8. Iowa. The Hawkeyes’ defense has been steadily advancing, and it has become good enough not to be able to separate them from the Final Four or the national title. No, do the figures stand in the top half of the Gonzaga West region to serve that purpose.
9. Ohio State. The Buckeyes can be national champions – if they are lucky not to deal with any of the teams that rely on size to make a difference. It is tough for the Buckeyes, as they build, to win against opponents with either Luca Garza or Kofi Cockburn or Hunter Dickinson. In terms of avoiding high levels inside the scorer, the Buckeyes’ regional draw is not a huge problem.
10. Purpose. The Boilermakers have size, depth, versatility and a tremendous coach. What they don’t have in their last nine matches with only Sasha Stefanovic only 9-for-37 is the 3-point shooting required to win six games. They have been between 7–2 during that recession, although that includes wins over Wisconsin and Ohio State, so they may have a Final Four.

11. Arkansas
12. West Virginia
13. Kansas
14. Texas Tech.
15. Florida State
16. Houston
17. LSU. With Trendon Watford, Cameron Thomas and Zevont Smart not impossible to impress with their offensive ability on display. If they defend at the B-Plus level, they will be a strong Final Four contender. As it stands, they are only a number 8 seed.
18. Virginia
19. UCNO
20. USC
21. Villanova
22. San Diego State. The Aztec’s best team did not get a chance to play in the NCAA tournament forever. Reward for putting together another great season? To deal with the Syracuse zone in the first round. See, there is no Hakim Warrick in this defense, but more accomplished teams than SD State have faced the Syracuse zone and gone home early from the tournament. Preparing for it is difficult when so few teams prefer a scheme.
23. Tennessee
24. Oregon
25. North Carolina. If I didn’t play myself in an 8/9 game, it would have been better to give North Carolina the Sweet 16 push. The size of tar heels can cause problems for a lot of opponents, and their guards are gaining the necessary experience for a day. The Tar Heels will be one of the top teams in next year’s prescription rankings. Gaining more and more experience in this year’s tournament will only help chase the 2022 title.
26. Wisconsin
27. Colorado
28. Crayton
29. Rutgers
30. BYU
31. Florida
32. Maryland
33. Clemson
34. Oklahoma
35. St. Bonventure. There is so much to admire about this program, this coach. It is surprising that Mark Schmidt has not given a more prominent job that he has achieved with the Bonnies. He is back in the NCAA tournament for the third time since his arrival in 2007. Going from the Atlantic 10 to the NCAA tournament is not easy, and it is twice as hard at St. Bonavant.

37. Georgia Tech.
38. Loyola
39. Virginia Tech
40. VCU
41. Syracuse
42. Georgetown
43. Michigan State
44. UCLA. The Bruins are not the 44th best team in this tournament. They may be the 44th best in the closing games, but they have played some of the best basketball and the next day only the Pac-12 regular-season title bowed out of contention. But like First Four rival Michigan State (and both Drake and Wichita State) that means winning seven games to win the national championship. As it is not possible to win the title with an 11 seed, it is more so when you need to win an extra game.
45. Utah State
46. Winthrop
47. Drake
48. Ohio U
49. UCSB
50. Oregon State. Saturday of Championship Week was one of the wildest in the history of the game, producing two major conference “bid steals” in a span of six hours. The Beavers are playing better, though, with seven wins in their last nine matches. Maybe I underestimate them.
51. Freedom.
52. Wichita State
53. UNC Greensboro
54. Colgate
55. North Texas
56. Abilene Christian. The 13 and 14 seeds are unusually strong in this tournament. There were very few upsets at conferences that produced such teams as Abilene Christian, which meant that the teams at No. 4 and No. 3 were better prepared to go. Like Texas, which faces this 19-4 squad, which is 74th in net and lost to Texas Tech by only seven.
57. Eastern Washington
58. Morehead State
59. Iona. Rick Pitino, back from his exile, coaching pro in Greece, back in the NCAA tournament. There is no way that Alabama instructors are excited at the idea of making a deal with anyone who has a 54–19 March Madness record and two NCAA championships.

68. Texas Southern. Johnny Jones, who often quit during his tenure at LSU and was eventually sidelined, proved that he is a capable coach for the NCAA Tournament, taking his third separate schedule. The trip will not last long, but the Tigers will stay here.
