A video on the Butia monosperm tree, which now blooms in the Mudumalai tiger reserve.
Butia monosperm tree is commonly known as ‘forest flame’. It now blooms across the Nilgiris. Trees vary because they wear more flowers than leaves. The flowers are bright orange with a distinctive petal shape, hence it is called the ‘flame of the forest’.
