SIT intensified search for woman, two others

The Special Investigation Team (SIT which is involved in the CD scandal involving former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi) has intensified a search operation to track the woman and two others, who are suspected in the case for coming out on March 2. The state was stirred up since then.

A team of SIT officials visited the woman’s hometown and questioned her friends and relatives.

SIT sources said that the woman is in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh and efforts are being made to locate her.

Meanwhile, a journalist from Tumkuru and his colleague from Devanhalli are running.

Police are analyzing their bank account details to track them. Police suspect that the accused could use the money and their mobile phones, which could give a lead to the authorities.

SIT officials interrogated the four suspects for the second time. The suspects were involved in handing over the CDs to the complainant in the case, Dinesh Kallahalli.

Promised security

After hours of demanding the protection of the video involving the woman in the CD scandal, the chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, R.K. Pramila Naidu assured of necessary security.

I have spoken to the police chiefs of the city and the state seeking protection, because the woman has expressed a threat perception. Ms. Naidu said that the commission will provide all possible assistance to her, and that she can contact us.

Even senior SIT officials said that action has been taken to ensure security to his family. SIT sources said, “We assure the woman that she can contact the police and record the time and place of her convenience in her statement.”

SIT officials prohibited the woman from paying her family home, relatives and the guest where she was staying. He e-mailed the notice to her and asked her to bring it back to the police.

Many social organizations and women’s rights groups supported the woman and demanded that the government ensure her safety.
