Virat Kohli regained his form and scored an unbeaten 73 to help India win the series over England in the second Twenty20 International of the five-match series on Sunday. After the match, Kohli revealed that he had a special chat with former South African captain AB de Villiers and his suggestion worked wonders for the Indian captain. Kohli also mentioned that his wife Anushka Sharma and team management also helped him stay in the right place when things do not go according to plan.

“I had to focus on the basics of the game and I always take pride in working for the team. Just keep an eye on the ball and my wife is here and she keeps telling me a lot of things,” Kohli said, “We have a great management that puts us in the right place,” Kohli said in the post match presentation.

Kohli said, “I had a special conversation with me and ABD before the game started. They just told me to watch the ball.”

Kohli came to bat in difficult conditions as India lost the wicket of KL Rahul.

Indian captain and debutant Ishan Kishan then shared a 94-run partnership for the second wicket, which laid the foundation for victory.

Kishan scored 56 runs in just 32 balls, with five fours and four sixes.

Promoted

After Kishan’s Adil Rashid fell, Kohli kept going and reached his half-century with a straight six.

The Indian captain finished the game with a maximum and became the first cricketer to score 3,000 runs in the men’s T20I in the process.
