Jan Sena Party (JSP) opened its account in GVMC elections by securing three wards. While JSP contested in 51 wards, its alliance partner BJP fielded candidates in 44 wards. The BJP took the alliance ticket to four for one ward.
Speaking to Hindu, JSP general secretary Bolsetti Satyanarayana said the results were on the expected lines.
He said, “We are talking of winning five wards and we are in alliance with BJP in four.”
While JSP won in Ward 64 (Gajuwaka), 22 (Madilapalem) and 33 (Gyanapuram), BJP won in Ward 48 in Kanchrapalem area.
Mr. Satyanarayana said that there are between 1,000 and 3,000 people in each ward who voted for free.
