The BJP on Sunday announced its list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam, which included Union ministers and several MPs.
The party released the names of 112 candidates for Kerala, where it will contest 115 out of 140 assembly seats, 17 in Assam and 63 candidates for the third and fourth phase elections in West Bengal.

In West Bengal, BJP has fielded former Chief Economic Advisor Ashok Lahiri from Alipurduar seat, Union Minister Babul Supriyo from Toliganj and Swapan Dasgupta from Tarakeswar assembly constituency.
Actor-turned-politician and sitting MP Lockett Chatterjee has been fielded from Chunchura and another MP Nishit Paramanik from Dinhata. In addition, several film personalities have been nominated as candidates for West Bengal at high stakes.

A similar trend was visible in Kerala, where BJP fielded ‘Metroman’ E Sreedharan from Palakkad and former Union Minister KJ Alphons from Kanjirapalli assembly seat.
For Tamil Nadu, it announced actor-politician Khushboo Sundar as its candidate for the Thousand Lights Assembly seat. BJP’s women’s cell chief Vanathi Srinivasan has been fielded against noted filmstar Kamal Haasan from Coimbatore South seat.
In Assam, Hasinara Khatun has been elected from Bagobar and Suman Haripriya has been elected from Hajo assembly constituency.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, party general secretary Arun Singh announced the names of the candidates and said that the election atmosphere in all states is in favor of the BJP.
