The Coimbatore district police on Friday invited applications from retired sub-inspectors, constables and army officers as special officers for election bandbody duty.
A release said that retired officers in optimum health condition will submit two photocopies of their voter ID card to the Coimbatore District Police Election Cell. For details, interested can contact the election cell at 94981 70685.
Unaccounted cash seized in Tiruppur
Officers of a static surveillance team seized undisclosed cash worth ₹ 1.5 lakh from a car during an investigation into a vehicle near Thirumuruganpondi within the Tiruppur North assembly constituency.
Officials said the cash was handed over to the treasury.
Earlier in the day, a flying squad team seized more than 200 bags transported from a rice mill on the indestructible – Tiruppur road and handed it over to the latter after examining the evidence produced by the mill owner, according to officials .
