Omar Payne of Florida out after throwing stunning elbow at John Fulkerson of Tennessee

Omar Payne of Florida was ruled out of Friday’s meeting with Tennessee in the quarter-finals of the SEC tournament, as he threw a pair of stunning elbows against John Fulkerson.

Payne was seen throwing early elbows after giving Kevan Johnson a small bucket for the game at a score of 35–26. As he turned to advance the court – Fulkerson behind him – Payne threw another elbow back and caught him in the jaw, knocking him into the court.

Payne was introduced to 2 fouls with a flag and was evicted; Fulkerson was ruled out of the game for evaluation and was later ruled out for the remainder of the competition.

Santiago Vescovi made two free throws after the ejection, along with another Johnson Bucket, to make the score 39–26. Payne finished the game with double digits on 1-for-1 shooting. He also had two rebellions and two burglaries.
