Doctors say she can move forward with some restrictions.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was discharged from the SSKM Hospital on Friday, where she was admitted in Nandigram on Wednesday after suffering a leg injury. Ms Banerjee came out of the Woodburn ward on a wheelchair and took her to her residence in Kalighat.

The six-member medical board treating him said that he had suggested that he should be kept under observation for the next 48 hours. “We discharged her due to repeated requests. She will be able to move forward with some restrictions,” a board member told reporters.

“The medical board met today and examined his condition. She is responding well to treatment and the improvement is quite satisfactory. . The injury was investigated, and the size of the hematoma has decreased significantly. There were also signs of improvement in the ankle injury, ”the doctor said.

Doctors said slabs of new plaster were put on her and members of the medical board told her about precautions and restrictions. Social activist Medha Patkar and Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court T. B. Many visitors including Radhakrishnan met the Chief Minister at the hospital.

“She will return to her area in two to three days,” Ms. Banerjee said on Thursday.

The Trinamool Congress had to cancel the release of its manifesto on 11 March and it was rescinded on 14 March. The chief minister is expected to be involved in campaigning from March 15. The first phase is to be held on March 27.

The Trinamool Congress staged a statewide protest on Friday from 3 pm to 5 pm to protest against the alleged attack on Ms. Banerjee.
