Dodgers Trevor Bauer tries to pitch once again, one toss goes away

Trevor Bauer went back to the spring training lab on Thursday night. Part of his manipulation involved closing the eye again.

This time, a glimpse of him echoes the pitch; A Kyrball hung inside and collided with Mariners Batter Ty France.

Bauer had a generally cryptic explanation as to why he flew half blind on the mound. Per MLB.com:

“So, first inning, my right eye wasn’t like focusing really well, for whatever reason. I did some CO2 exhaling stuff and that kind of lock back. I’m not sure if it Lighting or what it was. But I felt like my head was floating. “

LA’s newest starter scored four runs for 3/3 innings against Seattle, but gave up just one. He also hit four fours.

Bauer used the One-Eye technique for some pitches against the Padres when he was out for the last time. He declined to explain to reporters why he did so.

“There is definitely a reason behind it. If I wanted to share, I would already,” he said, according to Mike Diagovina of the Los Angeles Times.

Bowder is one of three candidates starting on Opening Day for the Dodgers. Manager Dave Roberts has not yet announced who will take on vs. Rocky on April 1. He could also go with Clayton Kershaw or Walker Buehler.
