PM did ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’, Dandi left on March

Shri Modi visited Sabarmati Ashram and Hriday Kunj.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched the government’s initiative ‘Amrit Ka Mahotsav’ to mark 75 years of India’s independence.

Shri Modi said that the 75th anniversary celebrations would continue till August 15, 2023.

The Prime Minister embarked on a padayatra (foot march) from Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat to re-implement Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi March.

The padyatra is being run from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Dandi in Navsari by 81 March, a journey of 386 km. March will end on April 5, after 25 days.

Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, 78 people started the Dandi March from the Sabarmati Ashram on 12 March 1930, announcing the ‘Salt Satyagraha’.

After landing at the Ahmedabad airport, Mr. Modi reached the Sabarmati Ashram, where he paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. He also visited Hriday Kunj, home of the ashram, where Mahatma Gandhi stayed with his wife Kasturba from 1918 to 1930.

Shri Modi wrote in the visitors’ book that the festival is a tribute to our freedom fighters and the freedom struggle.

“By coming to Sabarmati Ashram and inspired by Bapu, my determination for nation building was strengthened,” the Prime Minister wrote.

“Mahatma Gandhi gave the message of Atma-Nirbharata (self-reliance) and Atma-Vishwas (self-confidence) from here,” Mr. Modi wrote.

The Amrit Mohotsav of Independence is a tribute to our freedom fighters and the freedom movement by our people. During the ceremony, the country will not only remember all the important milestones, important times during Independence Day, but will also gain new energy for our future development, Mr. Modi wrote.

He said, “I am confident that with the blessings of Bapu we Indians will perform our duties and achieve the goals set during this Amrit Mohatswe”.

Mr. Modi then went to the cultural venue adjacent to the ashram.

Govindflorlok Bapu and our great freedom fighters Amazing tribute. ”Mr. Modi tweeted before the launch of the ceremony.

It will rotate the full circle with every tweet related to self-realization. It will help people. Will also become the catalyst for the movement., “Mr. Modi tweeted before the Festival launch.

The Central Government has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to plan policies and various events to be a part of the celebrations.

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani were present at the inauguration of the ceremony.
