Mithali Raj on Friday became the first Indian female batsman to score 10,000 runs in international cricket in all formats. Mithali reached the milestone in the third ODI against South Africa in Lucknow. The Indian ODI captain scored 36 runs before Anne Bosch was dismissed. Mithali has scored 6974 runs in ODIs while he has 2,364 runs in his name in T20Is. The 38-year-old right-hander has scored 663 runs in 10 Tests.

Mithali is now the second international cricketer to have scored 10,000 runs in the entire format. Charlotte Edwards of England is the second female cricketer to achieve this feat.

After reaching the milestone, Mithali departed on the next ball at midwicket, catching Mignon du Preez with a straight Bosh ball.

Mithali made his international debut against Ireland in a one-day match in June 1999.
