AIADMK not yet to decide on only one constituency

The AIADMK, which has almost wrapped up the seat-sharing process and distribution of assembly segments among its allies, is yet to decide on the only constituency – Padmanabhapuram in Kanniyakumari district.

In its list on Wednesday, the party announced N Thalaivai Sundaram for Kanhaiyakumari, besides giving three seats to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Killiyur was set aside for the Tamil Manila Congress (Moopanar) on Thursday.

So far, it has named candidates for 178 seats, besides allocating 12 seats to its seven allies, all of whom will contest the AIADMK’s symbol of “two leaves”.

On Thursday, the party released its third list of candidates for two seats – Perambalur and Thanjavur. In honor of Perambalur, the party held the sitting MLA, R.K. Abandoned Tamizhselvan and in the case of Thanjavur, v. Chosen Aruvudainambi.

With the selection of Mr. Tamizhselvan, the number of Scheduled Caste candidates of the party rose to 30.

Earlier in the day, the party said that Tiruchuli in Virudhunagar district was allotted to All India Movender Munnani Kazhagam.
