Students of classes 1 to 9 in all regions of Union Territory of Puducherry were declared “All Passes” directed by Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan on Thursday.
The Lieutenant Governor, who had approved the recommendations in this regard by the Department of Education, also directed that students of classes 10 and 11 in Puducherry and Karaikal be declared passes as per the Tamil Nadu Board guidelines. Similarly, students of classes 10 and 11 from Mahe and Yanam regions will be declared pass as per Kerala and Andhra Pradesh board guidelines, a press note from Raj Niwas said.
At the time of the schools, it was decided that the institutes would work five days a week and there would be holidays on Saturdays and Sundays.
Schools for classes 1 to 9 will function from March 31 and summer vacation will begin from April 1.
The Lt. Governor also gave approval for two ongoing schemes – approval of ₹ 29.65 crore for payment of old age / widow / destitute pension to 1,54,847 beneficiaries and actual expenditure of ₹ 24.35 lakh for purchase of food and non-acceptance. . Dietary material for Anganwadi centers in Mahe and Yanam areas. Ms. Soundarajan approved the declaration of drought days from April 4 to 6 for voting and from 4 pm on May 2 to 4 pm for the counting of votes.
