At rallies, voters were urged to exercise franchise

A rally of women self-help groups and signature campaigns launched by collectors is a part of SVEEP activities carried out by the District Election Wing of Thanjavur and Thiruvarur districts on Thursday.

Members of women self-help groups, who took out a rally from near Thanjavur railway junction to the Panagal Building in Kizhavasal, urged voters to exercise their franchise without fail on the day of polling. District Election Officer, Thanjavur District and Collector M. Govinda Rao flagged off the rally.

In Thiruvarur, disabled persons took out a rally on retrofitted scooters to influence voters to cast their votes without any vote. DEO, Thiruvarur, and Collector V. Santha gave the green signal to the rally.

Earlier, both the collectors launched a signature campaign to promote 100% participation of voters in the elections at their district headquarters.
